Die Ambivalenz der Unruhe (2017)
Drawing inspiration from Ralf Konersmann's "Die Unruhe der Welt," this photographic project delves into the intricacies of restlessness and explores the puzzling aspect of why our connection with it is complex:
The term "Inquietude" is imperfect. Our encounter with it leads to a distortion of our inner selves. As a result of increasingly rapid work processes and high expectations, we often feel hurried and pressured. Motivated by our personal desires and dreams, we are aware that new wishes and dreams will emerge even before we've fulfilled the current ones.
Simultaneously, inquietude serves as the driving force behind our stimulation. It embodies curiosity and a thirst for adventure, propelling us swiftly from one attraction to another amidst the hectic pace of our time. Its significance extends beyond individual lives, playing a pivotal role in every change, development, and progress.
This photographic compilation mirrors the thought process of Konersmann's philosophical work, "Die Unruhe der Welt," responding to it through a series of images organized into six chapters. The visuals capture diverse scenes where inquietude unveils its presence, sparking contemplation and posing the question: "Is inquietude not more than a burden to endure?"
